Rebecca is the only girl she knows who didn’t cry at the end of Titanic. Ben is the only man he knows who did. Rebecca’s untidy but Ben doesn’t mind picking up her pieces. Ben is laid back by Rebecca keeps him on his toes. They’re a perfect match.

Nothing can come between them. Or so they think.

When a throwaway comment reveals a secret from the past, their love story is rewritten.

Can they recover from the night that changed everything? And how do you forgive when you can’t forget?

This is the second book by Laura Tait and Jimmy Rice. After reading The Best Thing That Never Happened to Me (and loving every page) I was worried this book wouldn’t have the same spark but I was solely mistaken.

This book is lovely. It’s romantic without being sickly sweet. Its chick-lit without being “too good to be true” and it’s funny, down to earth and in some parts its emotional and heartbreaking. I laughed and cried my way through it. It’s very ’normal’ and I think this makes the book so readable and enjoyable, because most of us can properly relate to it in some way or another.

I loved the characters, from Rebecca and her love of whiskey, Danielle with her sassiness. Jemma who is hilarious and Ben and Jamie are the two people that every person wants to have as friends. I don’t want to give any spoilers or give the plot away but it’s down to them that I read long into the night and was raging when the book ended.

Laura and Jimmy have a knack of making the situations so real and the characters so human that you almost feel like part of the story. They capture the reality of being a twenty something adult living in a big city perfectly. The trials and tribulations that people go through every day in their careers and personal lives and what most of us do on a day to day basis. They capture the realities of being in relationships, dating, friendships and heartache beautifully in that poignant read.

This book will be published on the 24th March but you can pre-order it here… Amazon
